At FIELDEAS, we have analyzed the factors that allow us to obtain a full visibility of logistics operations in the last webinar held on April 21 in which the following participated Óscar LópezFIELDEAS general manager, Alfonso Martínthe company’s Pre-Sales Manager, and Rodrigo MartinThe company’s Transportation and Logistics Solutions Manager.

The event, entitled ‘How to obtain total visibility in your logistics operations’, brought together a total of 320 participants and served to deepen the understanding of how to achieve greater visibility in the supply chain and how to meet the challenges facing logistics management.

Supply chains have become a differential element for the competitiveness of any company. The sheer volume of data they incorporate is a decisive factor in generating cost savings, driving efficiency and improving customer service.

However, the complexity of logistics management makes it essential to make intensive use of technological tools that guarantee total control of the supply chain in order to get the most out of it.

Aware of the growing needs of companies to convert the data generated by their supply chains into relevant information, FIELDEAS has developed a complete supply chain visibility tool.

Óscar López: “The concept of a hyperconnected supply chain encompasses all the contextual information that surrounds it down to the last detail”.

This tool focuses, as Óscar López, general manager of FIELDEAS, pointed out in the webinar, on “achieving total control of logistics management through the real-time monitoring of parameters to improve traceability of goods and put the customer at the center of attention“.

Real-time monitoring makes it possible to achieve a hyper-connected supply chain, which, as Lopez explains, “encompasses all the contextual information that surrounds it down to the last detail and integrates logistics and transportation down to the last detail.”

The ultimate goal is to put the customer at the center, to have information available to anticipate and to be able to share information in real time with customers.

Supply Chain Visibility

The process is complex, but FIELDEAS has managed to turn it into a simple flow, with standardized and homogeneous information that can be shared with all the actors in the chain.

As a result, FIELDEAS has developed a solution with different modules focused on covering specific requirements, achieving maximum flexibility and achieving a more productive service model based on a traceability system that can be parameterized and allows predictive analysis.

According to the general manager of FIELDEAS, “the idea is for companies to become more efficient through analytical tools, service quality and incident analysis in order to improve and reach more efficient logistics scenarios, with the customer at the center”.

To this end, we propose a tool in which absolutely all the information that can be generated by any supply chain appears unified at the same point and in a simple way to facilitate decision making.

Óscar López: “The ultimate goal of total visibility is to put the customer at the center of the business”.

A range of modules

In order to collect as much information as possible from the most diverse sources and channel it into relevant information, FIELDEAS has developed what Rodrigo Martín, the company’s Logistics and Transport Solutions Manager, calls a “range of modules that have enabled us to focus on developing tools that are tailored to each customer’s needs and that they do not force you to have to modify your entire operation in order to use them”.

In this sense, the solution can fit into various operations due to its parameterization capabilities, in order to consolidate and group data sets from various sources to provide global and real-time information in notifications that can be easily configured for any type of company.

This facilitates traceability and, consequently, visibility, as well as the exchange of information between the different agents in the chain.

Likewise, the tool has a great potential to accelerate, as Rodrigo Martín, Pre-Sales Manager at FIELDEAS, indicates, the digital transition in the supply chain due to its functionalities of electronic waybill and digital management of the administrative documentation of the goods, including the possibility of including electronic signature..

mobile supply chain visibility

The digitization of documentation supply chain is, as Alfonso Martín, Pre-Sales Manager at FIELDEAS, points out, a key element of the supply chain. fundamental in order to deepen the visibility of logistics operations and to achieve adequate traceability to provide accurate information for proactive and efficient management.

Alfonso Martín: “The digitization of supply chain documentation is a fundamental element for the visibility of logistics operations”.

Three implementation cases: DHL, Celsa and Repsol

As the best way to analyze how any development works is to test it, FIELDEAS has also analyzed during the webinar three practical cases of implementation of the visibility tool in three completely different areas.

First of all, DHL Supply Chain has developed a highly flexible system. In this sense, the tool’s parameterization capacity has made it possible to provide answers in different areas with a single solution, which also has a great capacity for integration with other systems.

The logistics operator was also looking for full coverage in all its branches and exchange platforms, both in Spain and Portugal.

Faced with this challenge, FIELDEAS has managed to provide a solution that has managed to fully digitize the transport process for about 12,000 monthly routes and 5,000 drivers of different services.

Likewise, the company has also gained agility in the invoicing process and has achieved interconnection of routes with cross-docking and last mile services, thus achieving an integrated management of the entire logistics process.

On the other hand, in the case of Celsa, the challenge was to cover logistics operations in different countries with a total of 60,000 routes and 120 transport agencies involved.

The integration of the tool with SAP and the total coverage of subcontracting and freelancers, as well as the homologation of security measures, have been key in this project.

Finally, a highly versatile and capable shipment tracking system has been achieved using a quick confirmation app and automated access to facilities with QR code scanning.

Rodrigo Martín: “FIELDEAS has focused on developing tools that adapt to each client and do not force them to modify their entire operation”.

Finally, for Repsol Química, a very diverse scenario has been covered, with more than 33 million geopositions and 120 million kilometers traced, with more than 100 agencies and 8,000 drivers.

In this case, the key has been compliance with planned dates, the integration of the platform with various systems, its ability to offer mobile and web reporting, as well as its versatility to be applied in intermodal transportation.

As a result, an accurate calculation of estimated delivery times adapted to each type of shipment has been achieved, as well as improvements in delivery processes with a comprehensive visibility of the chain from the origin to the final recipient in a single solution.

In short, FIELDEAS has developed visibility and traceability tools adapted to the needs of the market, highly customizable, yet easy to use, that deepen the process of digital transformation of transport and logistics, with the aim of placing the customer at the center of attention of the entire process and to have relevant information in real time, which also allows for predictive management of the supply chain to gain efficiency.
