As reported by the media, Cepsa has implemented the FIELDEAS Track and Trace real-time traceability system that evolves the distribution process of its lubricants and asphalts.

This service, which is already starting to be used in the marketing of diesel fuels and will be extended next year to other company businesses, brings together several previously independent applications on a single platform, improving the experience of customers, employees and carriers. It also increases the efficiency, sustainability and safety of the operation thanks to the digitalization of the process.

Centralized information

Based on Track and Trace, FIELDEAS has developed a unique solution for Cepsa, grouping different functionalities in a single solution, centralizing all the traceability information of the requested order and streamlining the management of possible incidents in the service.

This project also implies improvements in sustainability, by eliminating the use of certain devices such as the mobile sales terminal (TMV) of the carriers, favoring the integration of processes, less waste generation and reduced energy consumption, since by reducing the exchange of files for order tracking, storage on servers is avoided.

In addition, it completely digitalizes the documentation of these processes, which until now were partly on paper, following Cepsa’s intention to eliminate paper from all its procedures, and encourages self-management by customers.

Improved experience

The project has three distinct lines of work: for customers, employees and carriers.

  • Customers: the development makes it easy for customers to view the status of their order and gives them an estimate of the product’s arrival via a tracking link.
  • Employees: allows distribution employees to have real-time control of service quality and safety.
  • Carriers: in parallel, the application makes it possible to replace mobile sales terminals with an application integrated into carriers’ mobile devices. It also provides the driver with a guide with the different steps to follow in the operations to ensure the established procedures, validate technical conditions and report incidents, in short, guarantee that the operation complies with Cepsa’s standards in terms of quality and safety.

This is a success story that demonstrates once again the flexibility of the FIELDEAS Track and Trace Supply Chain Visibility platform, since, starting from the product, the FIELDEAS team has the capacity to carry out additional developments that completely cover the customer’s needs.
