Coinciding with European Logistics Day, the traditional Gala Dinner of the Spanish Logistics Center was held on April 21, with the collaboration of Usyncro, Nacex and FIELDEAS, who supported the initiative in a special way.
The event, which this year was held at the Rooftop Casa Suecia, brought together some one hundred top-level executives from the logistics and transport sector. The main objectives were twofold: to spend time together in a relaxed environment to promote networking and to raise funds for Ukraine.
The charity event organized by CEL was opened by its president, Ana Isabel González, who took the opportunity to recall that “after two years conditioned by the health situation, we once again have the opportunity to experience one of the most enriching aspects of our activity: networking. We do it, moreover,” he insisted, “without masks and on a particularly important date for our sector, coinciding with the European Logistics Day.
Quoting Steve Jobs, Gonzalez spoke of the role of the leader: “Innovation is what distinguishes the leader from the followers”. He continued, “We have faced unprecedented critical situations and logistics professionals also deserve to be in the category of heroes. We have experienced 6 waves of a pandemic that have tested us personally and professionally. And supply chains will no longer be the same. What we have learned helps us to rethink strategies to take care of our clients and teams, and as managers we have surpassed ourselves by leading through innovation.
After these words, he gave way to Sergio de la Calle Asensio, the speaker of honor, who gave the “add headline” speech. De la Calle, with twenty years of experience in the corporate world, is currently Director of Programs & Faculty at Universitas Telefónica. International speaker and TEDx Speaker, he is a Sociologist, MBA and postgraduate in Human Resources and author of “Lead with a sense of humor; “The most effective teams have fun working”; “Have fun working” and “The secret ingredient of the best companies” (2021).
As a colophon, Ramón García, General Manager of CELThe event’s partner, Usyncro, Nacex and FIELDEAS and to the attendees for their role in this cause of solidarity that is so close to the logistics sector: “We would like to thank you for your support.I am enormously grateful to all the attendees who today have decided to contribute their invaluable grain of sand to a cause as important as the one at hand.“.
After the speeches, it was time for the Gala Dinner, where the hundred or so guests were able to share their time and an exceptional gastronomic experience in a unique and relaxed environment.
